BibCycle โ€“ Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026  |  Version 1.0 (Current Release)

Short version This version of BibCycle does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. Everything stays on your device.

1. About BibCycle

BibCycle is a Bible reading application designed to help users read through the entire Bible within approximately one year. The app breaks the 1,189 chapters of the Bible out of linear order, drawing chapters from an unread pool - removing the pressure of falling behind and allowing users to return at any time.

BibCycle is built on a human-first, local-first philosophy. Reading progress is yours. The system serves the text and the reader - nothing else.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

In this version of BibCycle, we do not collect any of the following:

All reading progress and app data is stored locally on your device only. Uninstalling the app will remove all stored data.

3. Local Storage

BibCycle stores the following data locally on your device:

Data TypePurposeStored Where
Reading pool state Track which chapters have been read Device local storage
App preferences Display settings and preferences Device local storage
Downloaded images Bible chapter illustrations (cached locally after first download) Device local cache

None of this data leaves your device in the current version.

4. Image Assets Download

On first launch, BibCycle downloads a set of Bible chapter images (~60-80MB) from our content delivery server. This is a one-time download of static image files only.

5. Third-Party Services

This version of BibCycle does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs (e.g. Firebase Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook SDK).

The app is distributed via Google Play. Google may collect certain device and installation data as part of their standard platform operations, governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Children's Privacy

BibCycle does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13. As no personal data is collected in this version, the app is suitable for general audiences.

7. Future Versions

A future version of BibCycle will introduce optional account functionality with reading progress sync. That version will collect email addresses and reading progress data. A updated privacy policy will be published at that time, and users will be clearly informed before any data collection begins.

This policy applies to the current release only.

8. Your Rights

Since all data in this version is stored locally on your device, you have full control:

There is no account to delete, no server-side data to request.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as BibCycle evolves. When material changes are made, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users within the app.
